A special screening of short films by graduates of the Media Production department at the Ala-Too cinema
On 20 April the Ala-Too cinema hosted a special screening of short films made by Compass College graduates. The screening was part of CREATE4, a creative industries festival devoted this year to cinema and running under the slogan ‘Create4Cinema: Lights! Camera! Action!’.
Compass College, an active member of the Creative Industries Association, presented work by its young creators. The programme featured:
- Adinai Syrgataeva — ‘QAPAS’, short fiction film
- Karina Choyubekova — ‘The Darkness’, short animated film
- Nagima Chalbaeva — ‘The Great Emptiness’, short documentary
- Bayaman Asanaliev — ‘Mother’, short documentary
- Aliya Akpaeva — ‘The Rainy Day’, short animated film
Each film reflected its author’s personal take on contemporary themes, combining the professional skills gained at the College with an individual artistic voice. Compass College continues to support the growth of filmmaking within its programmes.
